Do Supplements Help Achieve Weight Loss

Coupled with a good hormone-friendly diet, supplements can further naturally balance and control hormone levels. The following are examples of beneficial supplements for hormonal balance…
Fish Oil (containing EPA and DHA) – vital for production of healthy prostaglandins and anti-inflammatory substances in the body.
B Vitamins, taken as a “complex” – B vitamins together with EPA and DHA are paramount for healthy oestrogen/progesterone balance, AND liver function.

Antioxidants such as green tea extract, d-limonene, turmeric or other quality antioxidants to support healthy cellular ageing.

Other oestrogen-supporting agents – isoflavones, non-soy isoflavones, phytonutrients, active folates (supporting methylation), support female health at all stages as well as benefiting breast health, bone health and cardiovascular health.

Calcium together with other essential nutrients to support bone health – calcium must be in an absorbable form, and taken with other nutrients, such as magnesium, vitamin D and boron. Microcrystalline “hydroxyapatite” (MCHC) is the ultimate form of calcium for proper absorption into bone, and studies show this to be effective in improving bone density in postmenopausal women.
N.B. Always seek advice from a registered Nutritionist before embarking on a specific supplement programme.

Balancing herbs can be very helpful for many women in dealing with stress or sex hormone imbalance (particularly during the pre-menstrual phase and during and after menopause). Examples include chaste berry (agnus castus), dong quai, black cohosh, red clover, ginger, evening primrose, peony root, red raspberry leaf, and St. John’s Wort.
Many can be taken in isolation, or in combination with each other.
Always get professional advise before taking herbs, especially if you are on ANY medication, or hormonal treatment.

Rest is the most wonderful thing in the world to any woman. Unfortunately, it is one of the things she rarely gets. Between work, babies, appointments, preparing everyone else for the day, and cleaning, sleep is not high on the priority list. Healthy women get enough rest. They make sure to allow enough time in the day to be properly rested.

Here Are the Options You Have, Working As a Nurse Practitioner

As you probably already know, a Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse who simply went back to school to get additional and more advanced training. They went back to achieve a graduate level education which is either a masters degree or a doctoral degree in the nursing field. They went and attended a practitioner program to get the education and maybe to specialize in certain area such as women’s health, pediatrics, adult care, physical therapist and there are a lot more to specialize in.

Its often that a NP becomes certified by passing the national board certification exam that is given out by AANP. They also have to obtain their license in the state that they reside in before they can actually start practicing medicine, even if they have gotten their certification. No matter the age of the patient, practitioners are still able to provide a wide range of health care services or at least they are expected to be able to do it, no matter how difficult the task may be.

This is why a NP has the privilege of being able to act as the primary health care provider of their patients, which is a privilege that was usually only reserved for doctors. A Nurse Practitioner has rules and regulations that they have to follow depending on the state that they live in. Each and every state here in the U.S. has specific regulations that practitioners have to follow to practice medicine. Practitioners are heavily focused on providing equal and the correct treatment to each individual they take on as a patient. Practitioners are given the responsibility and duty of:

Being able to provide the necessary services and treatments to patients no matter where they are or work at.

They have the necessary education and training that allows them to be able to order, interpret and examine all the various laboratory tests. When patients need an x-ray or EKG, the practitioner will be expected to be able to interpret the results of these tests.

They are expected to be able to diagnose and treat based on the signs and symptoms that a patient may have. Even though practitioners are able to do this, they still need to seek consultation from physicians before administering anything and carrying out the diagnostic plan.

For those of you who are on your way to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, all I can say is that you’ve made a great decision. This career is very rewarding and fulfilling to the passionate health care worker.
